Thematic Innovation Councils participate in creation of strategies for research, development and innovation for the business sector in line with market needs. Their main goal is to secure strategic management and guidelines for relevant thematic priority areas of the Smart Specialization Strategy of the Republic of Croatia for the period 2016-2020. Councils also work on preparation of business sector projects with relevant innovation potential and will give guidelines for financing business projects aimed at research, development and innovation.
The intention of this collaborative approach to research and innovation is to contribute to better networking as well as exchange of knowledge and experience between the business sector and scientific community, and to create a more encouraging environment for innovations.
